Andrew Douglas Hoyt Andrew Douglas Hoyt ANDREW DOUGLAS HOYT received his master’s degree in transdisciplinary cultural studies (with a focus on archives and social movements) from the Claremont Graduate University in 2010 and his PhD from the Department of History at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, in 2018. At UMN, he was mentored by Dr. Donna Gabaccia and trained as a research fellow at the Immigration History Research Center. His dissertation, “And They Called Them ‘Galleanisti’: The Rise of the Cronaca Sovversiva and the Birth of America’s Most Infamous Anarchist Faction (1895-1912),” is a methodologically innovative approach to the study of print culture and transnational network building among (and between) immigrant communities. He is currently employed as adjunct faculty member at Palo Verde College in Blythe, California, where he teaches American history and world civilizations to incarcerated students via online and correspondence modalities.
