This article examines the relationship between morale and minority group membership. Wirth argues that minority groups, due to their subordinate status and experiences of prejudice and discrimination, often face challenges in maintaining morale. He explores how factors such as social isolation, economic insecurity, and attacks on self-esteem contribute to low morale among minority group members. Wirth also discusses the various coping mechanisms and strategies that minority groups employ to bolster their morale, including group solidarity, cultural preservation, and social action. He emphasizes the importance of social and political change in improving the morale of minority groups and achieving greater equality and inclusion
