This study is a lexicological contribution to the terminology of a field of specialty. It is based on the linguistic analysis of a category of words that characterizes scientific language: composition. It first presents the theoretical framework that is that of constructional morphology, defines the notion of composition in relation to derivation, and presents a typology of compounds. The paper thus distinguishes popular compounds from neoclassical compounds before isolating the hybrid formation. The analysis emphasizes the morphological complexity and the difficulty of interpreting this type of unit while noting its productivity. We, therefore, propose a qualitative study based on a morphosyntactic and semantic analysis of some environment-related concepts
