Career robbery is examined with reference to Sutherland's previously postulated model of systematic or professional criminal collectivities; little resemblance is found. The social organization of career robbery is described as representing a distinct criminal group form, the content and characteristics of which reflect the unique stance of robbery as a form of criminal behavior
