Patterns of Fright

Etude des differents concepts de susto (maladie nerveuse specifique a l'Amerique latine) coexistant dans la communaute latino-indienne de Santiago Yancuihtlalpan (Sierra de Puebla, Mexique). La culture Nahua traditionnelle concoit le nemouhtil comme une perte magique du double, les Ladinos et les Nahua accultures ont perdu la reference magique traditionnelle mais croient qu'une peur d'une certaine qualite peut etre la cause de la maladie. Les differents traitements du susto sont fonction des croyances de ces groupes, de leur degre d'acculturation ou d'education
