L'A. veut mettre a jour les raisons theoriques qui permettent de rejeter l'affirmation communement admise selon laquelle les progressifs et les habituels sont statifs. La notion de statif appartient au sous-domaine de l'action, alors que les notions de progressif et habituel appartiennent au sous-domaine de l'aspect. Il existe cependant un cas ou les habituels sont statifs: les attitudinaux, un sous-ensemble des habituels, se referent aux situations ou la repetition d'un evenement donne est consideree comme la propriete definissant un individu ou un objet. L'A. montre que les attitudinaux consistent en activites qui sont, de maniere contextuelle, converties en statifs permanents
