Factors Affecting Changes in Attitudes Toward Negroes Among High School Students

INTRODUCTION The chief purpose of the present investigation was to study factors affecting changes in attitudes toward Negroes among white high school students in a school integration situation. To accomplish this aim a test-retest type of experimental design was employed. Attitude testing occurred both before and after school integration. From a theoretical standpoint such a study aims to contribute to an understanding of attitude change in general. At the same time it helps to identify important factors in the development of healthy relationships and affitudes during the school integration process
