L'A. souligne la compatibilite de l'histoire de la litterature, consideree du point de vue de la Rezeptionsgeschichte allemande, c'est-a-dire des theories de la reception, et de l'histoire de la pensee politique, consideree du point de vue de la theorie anglo-americaine de la nouvelle histoire de la pensee politique. Au-dela de leur divergence concernant le caractere artistique ou historique du texte, l'A. souligne leur complementarite dans l'interpretation du sens historique.Il s'agit donc de considerer l'histoire de la pensee politique comme une histoire de la litterature politique
