What "Ariadne's thread" enables travelers to reach their destination inside the labyrinth of large railway stations ? Giving an account of the intense perceptive activity involved in making one's way through a transportation complex is an inducement for further investigating the small instances of cooperation and adaptation between travelers, passers-by, personnel, buildings and machines. Rather than vainly trying to find general answers to the diverse situations that arise, managements in such «movement venues» are obliged to use both permanent and occasional travelers' cognitive resources as a starting point from which to cultivate intelligent responses
