The essay reflects on the relation between the idea of place of speech and the social sciences.Conceiving the place of speech as an identitarian and cognitive placement, from which different subjects construct their positions and legitimize their interventions in the public sphere, it analyzes the potential and limits of relationship with the "where" and "who" of the sociological subject as a knowledge producer.This knowledge is always situated and contextual, conditioned yet not mechanically determined by the positionality of those who investigate the senses of the social
