The declaration of Douro (Alto Douro Vinhateiro) as World Heritage by UNESCO, in the category of living evolutionary cultural landscape in 2001 presented itself as a social, economic and touristic development opportunity for the region. After 15 years of its declaration, the objective of developing the region in these three strands through the UNESCO mark is still not evident in the territory. With the occasion of celebrating the 15 years of this distinction, in which a debate on the development of the territory with experts from areas as diverse as communication, landscape, tourism and others took place. In this session was pointed important limitations, potentialities, challenges and development strategies by the experts for the Douro region
