It is suggested that surface area can be used as an element for representation of quantity of pottery. It is shown that relations between adjusted weights of individual ceramic finds are equal to the relations between the surface areas of the same finds. The determination of adjusted weights is based on measurements of weights, thicknesses and densities. An example illustrates the simplicity of the method
