En Argentina, desde la segunda mitad de la década de 1990, se observan importantes mutaciones en el campo de la contienda política. La hipótesis del artículo es que el fenómeno de lucha popular califica como «ciclo de protesta». En este artículo se reflexiona sobre las implicancias y ganancias, analíticas y metodológicas, de asumir el concepto de ciclo de protesta. Además, se propone un modo de operacionalizar ese concepto y medir el episodio contencioso argentino.ABSTRACT: In Argentina, from the second half of the decade of 1990, important mutations are observed in the field of the political contest. The hypothesis of the article is that the phenomenon of popular struggle qualifies as a «cycle of protest». In this article one discusses about the analytical methodological implications of assuming the concept of cycle of protest. Besides, it proposes a way of operacionalizating this concept and measuring the contentious Argentine episode
