The creative, peaceful class of qualitative approaches for resolving and settling conflicts is delineated. A repertoire of several dozen such approaches is given in general enough terms to apply at the interpersonal, interorganizational, and international levels. An example from international relations is given for each approach. The creative, peaceful class and the repertoire can provide hypotheses for researchers, a checklist for negotiators, and a broadening of vision for the public. The repertoire is of particular use for widening the range of options perceived by closed-minded people before they walk out of a negotiating session or turn to violence. Examples of the repertoire include Osgood's GRIT and Fisher's fractionation
