The purpose of the study is to experimentally test, through a survey of a sample of users, an approach to organizing a virtual museum of art interaction between China and Russia in the era of digitalization. The study also included description of the development of a virtual museum Digital Horizons and experimental assessment of the museum by 36 users according to the criteria of usability (convenience), involvement, prolonged interest, technical quality, and completeness on a 5-point Likert scale. The survey showed high quality of assessment for all criteria; no significant differences in gender assessment, higher assessment of usability and involvement by occasional museum users and higher assessment by regular users of virtual museums. The practical significance of the study lies in the proposal of an approach to the formation of virtual museums of fine art, which can be expanded and has received a significantly high rating from experimental visitors
