What Is Cancer Outcomes Research

Cancer. This word carries weight. It is probably the most devastating personal health event that most people can imagine. Should we be unlucky enough to join this dreaded fraternity, what would we ask of the health profession? First, to cure us. Of course, that is not always possible, but even if it were, it is not all that we would ask of those who care for us. We would want comfort, communication, and dignity, for example. The list could be very long. The “outcomes” we desire for ourselves and our family members are as complex and multifaceted as the disease itself
