Jonathan Beecher Field is Assistant Professor of English at Clemson University. The article above proceeds from his book manuscript, “Errands into the Metropolis: New England Authors in Revolutionary London.” He is presently completing an essay titled “The Antinomian Controversy Did Not Take Place,” and this fall he will do fieldwork for an article on Boston's Duck Tours titled “Ducking History.”
