JAMES TWEEDIE is Associate Professor of Comparative Literature, Cinema, and Media at the University of Washington. He is the author of The Age of New Waves: Art Cinema and the Staging of Globalization (Oxford, 2013), which won the Katherine Singer Kovács Award from the Society for Cinema and Media Studies.
