The Development of an Empowerment Programme for Child-Carers in Private Places of Temporary Safe-Care
The article purpose of the article is to report on an empowerment programme for child-carers in private places of temporary safe-care so as to equip them with skills to act in the best interest of the children in their care. The level of knowledge of South African pupils regarding HIV/Aids
English Participants were not well informed regarding HIV/AIDS and many misconceptions existed. The current publicity given to HIV/AIDS can lead to desensitization instead of addressing the real issues. Programmes in this regard should rather focus on life skills as such, in which HIV/AIDS plays a major role.
