  • Synergistic Retrieval of Soil Moisture in Arid Regions Using GF ‐3 SAR and Sentinel‐2 Optical Data

Open Access•Yu Qin, Yu Q et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2026

As a vital component of the land–atmosphere interaction system, soil moisture plays an indispensable role. In arid and semi‐arid regions, soil moisture serves as a key indicator of ecosystem vulnerability and also functions as an essential role in drought monitoring, climate research, agricultural water resource management, and land management. This study integrates radar and optical remote sensing data combined with intelligent algorithms based …

  • Associations of total physical activity with all-cause and cardiovascular disease mortality in Chinese adults

Open Access•Yanan Liu and Jun Wan Yanan Liu and Jun Wan, Yanan Wan et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2026

Our prospective analysis indicated that total physical activity was inversely associated with the risk of all-cause, CVD, and ischemic stroke death. The current data suggest a potential beneficial effect of physical activity for reducing premature death risk

  • The Influencing Mechanism and Changing Evaluation of Plateau Pika Hazard

Open Access•Tao Huang, Hongyan Yu et al.•ARTICLE•Land Degradation and Development•2025

Plateau pika ( Ochotona curzoniae , hereafter pika) is a keystone species and ecological engineer on the Qinghai‐Tibetan Plateau (QTP), while pika outbreak is one of the hazards to accelerate the degradation of alpine grasslands. Our limited understanding of the distribution and influencing factors of pika hazard has hindered the implementation of reasonable control measures. In this study, we conducted a fixed‐point survey to investigate the eff…

  • Identification of high-risk patterns of myopia in Chinese students based on four major behavioral risk factors

    Open Access•Dan-Lin Li, Zhi-Jian Yin et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2023

Chinese university students showed differential risks of myopia and could be subdivided into high- and low-risk clusters based on four behavioral variables

  • Location and regionalization patterns of hotel chains

Jing Qin, Yu Qin et al.•ARTICLE•Tourism Geographies•2023•References: 63

Hotel chains shape the industry’s development and competition by locating multiple business units in multiple regions. However, how chain hotels are located and regionalized is severely under-researched. A better understanding of hotel chains’ location and regionalization patterns is key to the studies of the hotel industry, which has been increasingly dominated by chains. Six chains from the emerging economy hotel segment in China were selected,…

  • Characteristics of carbon source greenhouse gas flux in the water–air formation in the middle and upper reaches of the Three Gorges Reservoir

    Open Access•Yu Qin, Yu Q et al.•ARTICLE•Water Policy•2022

This study selected five points in the middle and upper mainstream of the Three Gorges Reservoir area. Starting from May 2016, the greenhouse gases CO2 and CH4 from the water–air formation at the sampling points have been monitored month by month for 10 months. Using the headspace balance method and the thin boundary layer model estimation method, we obtained the CO2 and CH4 partial pressure ranges and the water–air formation diffusion flux at th…

  • Physical activity and carotid atherosclerosis risk reduction in population with high risk for cardiovascular diseases

Open Access•Lulu Chen, Yaochu Bi et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2022

In population with high risk for CVDs, physical activity was inversely associated with CIMT, abnormal carotid artery and CP, particularly among the elders. Sedentary leisure time was not associated with them. These results suggested that physical activity is important for carotid vascular health, and perhaps especially in elder population

  • The association between daily total physical activity and risk of cardiovascular disease among hypertensive patients

Open Access•Tingyu Zhou, Jian Su et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2021

Total daily physical activity was negatively associated with CVDs among hypertensive adults in China, and this association was U-shape. It has some public health implications that community-based total physical activity intervention campaigns can be of help for CVDs prevention among hypertensive people in China

  • Too early or too late

    Open Access•Yu Qin, Qin Yu et al.•ARTICLE•Demographic Research•2017•Cited by: 1•References: 15

In January 2016, China ended its 35-year-old one-child policy and replaced it with a nationwide two-child policy. However, it remains unclear whether a two-child policy can effectively increase the fertility level in China

  • No county left behind?’ The distributional impact of high-speed rail upgrades in China

Yu Qin, Yu Q•ARTICLE•Journal of Economic Geography•2016•Cited by: 3•References: 6

Infrastructure investment may reshape economic activities. In this article, I examine the distributional impacts of high-speed rail upgrades in China, which have improved passengers’ access to high-speed train services in the city nodes but have left the peripheral counties along the upgraded railway lines bypassed by the services. By exploiting the quasi-experimental variation in whether counties were affected by this project, my analysis sugges…

  • Association of dietary pattern and body weight with blood pressure in Jiangsu Province, China

    Open Access•Yu Qin, Yu Q et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2014

A traditional dietary pattern is associated with high blood pressure among the population of Jiangsu Province, which may be mainly due to high salt intake. Moreover, high BMI is an important determinant of high blood pressure. Both issues need to be addressed by lifestyle interventions

  • Corporate Culture and Company Performance

Yu Qin, Yu Q et al.•ARTICLE•Asia Pacific Journal of Tourism…•2014•References: 13

China's phenomenal economic ascent has fueled domestic and outbound tourism demand and thus created unprecedented opportunities for hotel development and management. This single case study explores the relations between corporate culture and organizational performance for Home Inns, the largest lodging firm in China. The findings reveal that human relations and social nexus in a harmonious organizational context, as manifested in the core values …

  • Reactions of Chinese adults to warning labels on cigarette packages

    Open Access•Yu Qin, Yu Q et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2011

Both the old and the new Chinese warning label are not effective in this target population
