  • Psychometric properties of the Knowledge and Attitudes to Mental Health Scales in a Dutch sample (KAMHS-NL)

Open Access•Janne M Tullius, Bas Geboers et al.•ARTICLE•BMC Public Health•2024

The Dutch version of the KAMHS is a valid measure for detecting differences in MHL levels in adolescents. The KAMHS is a promising instrument for assessing MHL in adolescents in a multifaceted manner in other countries which may facilitate rigorous global MHL research. The instrument therefore deserves further validation research in other settings and comparisons across various cultural contexts

  • Suicidal ideation in patients with obstructive sleep apnoea and its relationship with disease severity, sleep-related problems and social support

Open Access•Vladimira Timkova, Iveta Nagyova et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Health Psychology•2020•Cited by: 1•References: 53

We aimed to assess the prevalence of suicidal ideation and to examine the relationships between obstructive sleep apnoea severity, sleep-related problems, social support and suicidal ideation in obstructive sleep apnoea patients. We included 149 patients (68% male; mean age, 48.99 ± 9.57 years) with diagnosed obstructive sleep apnoea (Apnoea-Hypopnoea Index ⩾5) based on full-night polysomnography. The prevalence of suicidal ideation among obstruc…

  • Trajectories of Anxiety and Depression After Liver Transplantation as Related to Outcomes During 2-Year Follow-Up

Coby Annema, Gerda Drent et al.•ARTICLE•Psychosomatic Medicine•2018

OBJECTIVE: The aims of the study were to examine whether distinct trajectories of anxious and depressive symptoms are present among liver transplant recipients from before transplantation to 2 years afterward, to identify associated demographic, clinical, and individual characteristics, and to examine the influence of distinct trajectories on outcomes. METHODS: A prospective, multicenter cohort study was performed among 153 liver transplant recip…

  • Walrus Movements in Smith Sound

Open Access•Mads Peter Heide‐Jørgensen, Janne Flora et al.•ARTICLE•ARCTIC•2017

Fifty of 58 walruses (Odobenus rosmarus rosmarus) instrumented with satellite-linked transmitters in four areas in eastern Smith Sound, Northwest Greenland, during May and June of 2010 – 13 and 2015 provided data for this study. These animals departed from the feeding banks along the Greenland coast in June – July (average 14th June), simultaneously with the disappearance of sea ice from these areas. Most of them moved to Canadian waters in weste…

    Open Access•Ronald J Uittenbroek, Sijmen A Reijneveld et al.•ARTICLE•Health Expectations•2016

BACKGROUND: Novel population-based integrated care services are being developed to adequately serve the growing number of elderly people. Suitable, reliable and valid measurement instruments are needed to evaluate the quality of care delivered. OBJECTIVE: To develop a measure to evaluate the quality of integrated care from the perspective of elderly people, the Patient Assessment of Integrated Elderly Care (PAIEC), and then to assess its psychome…

  • Redefining Walrus Stocks in Canada

    Open Access•Robert E Stewart, Robert E A Stewart•ARTICLE•ARCTIC•2009

Defining management units is basic to the sound management of resources. Walrus (Odobenus rosmarus rosmarus) are hunted throughout their range in Canada and are subject to other human activities requiring management decisions. Current management units are based on a comprehensive review and a stock assessment completed in the mid 1990s. Between 1993 and 2004, satellite-linked radio tags provided information on the movements of walrus in Canada’s …

  • Investigation of the Stock Structure of Atlantic Walrus ( Odobenus rosmarus rosmarus ) in Canada and Greenland Using Dental Pb Isotopes Derived from Local Geochemical Environments

    Open Access•P M Outridge, W J Davis et al.•ARTICLE•ARCTIC•2003

The chemical composition of animal tissues such as teeth appears to reflect an individual's exposure to its geochemical environment. In this study, the lead (Pb) isotope composition of dental cementum was used to investigate the stock structure of Atlantic walrus (Odobenus rosmarus rosmarus) in the Canadian Arctic and Greenland. The 12 communities providing walrus samples for this study represent most of the Canadian and Greenlandic villages wher…

Potentially hazardous painted surfaces were found in 40% of 166 dwelling units surveyed in 97 upstate New York migrant labor camps, a figure substantially lower than comparable surveys in upstate New York high risk urban areas. Blood samples obtained from 79 migrant children in 1972 revealed only one child with blood lead level above 40 mug per 100 ml as compared to a 21.6% yield from 5,733 high risk urban area children. A second screening progra…
