This work proposes a comparative critical approach to the terms in which Pierre Bourdieu formulates, on one hand, the theory of practices and, on the other, those implicit in what he calls 'public position taking', a theory of social change. Ce qui se passe dans les églises chrétiennes d’Amérique Latine, surtout depuis quelques années, soulève l’intérêt d’une expérience nouvelle et concrète de redéfinition de la doctrine et de la pratique, à l’intérieur d’une situation sociale, elle aussi nouvelle, dans des pays où l’influence de l’église, catholique surtout, est très grande dans la structuration de la pensée et de la pratique.
