  • The public response to innovative strategies for the control of biodeterioration in archaeological hypogea

Open Access•Patrizia Albertano, Daniela Pacchiani et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Cultural Heritage•2004•References: 1

  • Red Cell Enzyme Polymorphisms in Friuli Venezia Giulia (Northeast Italy)

Maria Fuciarelli, Maria Luisa Romiti et al.•ARTICLE•Anthropologischer Anzeiger•2000

Seven erythrocyte enzyme polymorphisms (ACP1, ADA, ESD, GLO1, PGD, PGM1 and PGM2) were investigated in a sample of 673 unrelated adult individuals from Friuli Venezia Giulia (or Friuli) and Istria. The gene frequencies found in the four provincial samples of Friuli and Istria fall within the range previously reported for Italy, showing a genetic homogeneity among the considered samples. However, comparisons with data from ex-Yugoslavian samples--…

  • Menarcheal age in central Italy

Open Access•Alessandro Vienna, Enrico Capucci•ARTICLE•American Journal of Human Biology•1994

Estimates of menarcheal age in girls in central Italy based on the status quo and recall methods are compared. Results obtained by the two methods differ significantly in that the recall method underestimates age of menarche even though utmost care was used in data collection (province of Rome: status quo 12.44, retrospective 11.84; Molise: status quo 12.51, retrospective 12.12). Positive and negative aspects of the two methods are discussed. © 1…

  • An anthropobiological study in Basse Kotto (Central Africa). I. Erythrocyte and sero‐genetic markers

Open Access•Gabriella Spedini, Hubert Walter et al.•ARTICLE•American Journal of Physical…•1983

Phenotype and allele frequencies for hemoglobin types (Hbβ), acid phosphatase (AcP), phosphoglucomutase (PGM 1 and PGM 2 ), esterase D (EsD), 6‐phosphogluconate dehydrogenase (6‐PGD), glyoxalase I (GLO), superoxide dismutase (SOD A), and adenylate kinase (AK) as well as for haptoglobins (Hp), group‐specific component (Gc), transferrin (Tf), Gm, and Inv groups and albumin, are reported in the Mbugu, Sango, Yakpa, and Baya Mandja ethnic groups in t…
