  • Predicting Probability of Attaining Fitness to Stand Trial

    Open Access•Daniel Cuneo, Daniel J Cuneo et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1984

Mental health professionals' accuracy in predictions on the probability of unfit defendants' ability of attaining fitness to stand trial was examined. An over-all 78% accuracy in such predictions was found. It is interesting to note that all errors were due to overpredicting individuals' ability to attain fitness. The implications are discussed

  • Aggressive and Socially Disruptive Behavior among Maximum Security Psychiatric Patients

    Open Access•John J Randolph, David Mason et al.•ARTICLE•Psychological Reports•1982

The frequency of behavior or management problems for units of differing “security” within a maximum security hospital were compared. The frequency of such behaviors reflects a selection process more than the fact that the patients are in a “controlled treatment setting,” as suggested by the authors of a previous study
