    Lynda Benglis has been written into the canon of twentieth-century art history as a feminist heir to Jackson Pollock’s painting. This article explores another, unacknowledged lineage between Benglis and the “father” of modern ceramic sculpture, Abstract Expressionist potter Peter Voulkos.
