Towards Investigating Innovation Perceptions of Leaders in the ICT Sector of Pakistan
Innovation in the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector is critical for organizational growth and societal sustainability. However, the innovation capabilities of developing countries, particularly in the ICT sector, remain underexplored. This study is aimed at assessing the perceptions of senior leadership within Pakistan’s ICT sector to identify the factors contributing to the limited scope of innovation. Through qualitative int…
Qualitative Insights Into Cancel Culture Prevention, Its Potential Individual Impacts, and How to Explore them
The concept of cancel culture has gained traction over the past 10 years, with the continuous rise of social media and online platforms. The limited literature on this topic tends to focus on possible definitions and characteristics. However, we have yet to fully understand how cancel culture, canceling, and canceling prevention impact individuals and their lives. As such, we set out to build an empirical base that would allow us to delimit, unde…
Interaction of Children Aged 4 to 10 Years With YouTube Videos Played on a Smartphone
Children are keen users of digital technologies, and we studied the interaction of 60 children aged 4 to 10 years with YouTube videos played on a smartphone. We found that the 9‐ and 10‐year‐old children liked watching videos on a smartphone, while the younger ones preferred TV shows. Most of the children aged 4 to 6 years made accidental touches on the screen of the smartphone while watching a video on it, and such accidental touches sometimes p…
Beyond Reality
This research explores consumer attitudes and behavior in a metaverse retailing environment, mainly focusing on how perceptions of scarcity and rarity influence consumers’ views of purchasing virtual wearables. Our findings diverge from preconceived notions about scarcity in physical/online retail, opening the door to a new understanding of how metaverse citizens may perceive scarcity of products. While it may appear simple to assume that physica…
Encountering Automated Delivery Robots in Public Spaces
Automated delivery robots (ADRs) are perceived as one of the solutions towards sustainable and efficient last‐mile delivery process. However, research on their integration into public spaces has predominantly focused on interactions with intentional encounters in the case of users of delivery services, with less consideration given to nonusers’ interactions with ADRs. This paper contributes to the field by presenting two real‐life case studies as…
Medical tourism index and travel willingness via travel anxiety
This empirical research developed a conceptual model to predict medical tourists' willingness to travel in the post-pandemic era. The paper employed complexity theory to assess the complex role of medical tourism index (MTI) dimensions on tourist willingness through travel anxiety. Data were gathered using a questionnaire-based survey and analysed using partial least squares structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) and necessary condition analysis…
Antecedents of the Intention to Use Implantable Technologies for Nonmedical Purposes
This study investigated the rise of implantable or cyborg technologies, also known as insideables, which offer the potential to improve health‐related conditions and enhance the capabilities of healthy individuals. This research focused on the acceptance of insideables among university students in Spain, utilizing the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) framework along with analytical tools such as partial least squares str…
Customizability in Conversational Agents and Their Impact on Health Engagement (Stage 2)
Conversational agents (CAs) are effective tools for health behavior change, yet little research investigates the mechanisms through which they work. Following the Computer as Social Actors (CASA) paradigm, we suggest that agents are perceived as human‐like actors and hence influence behavior much as human coaches might. As such, agents should be designed to resemble ideal interaction patterns, for example, by resembling their users. In this regis…

This paper also examines the serial mediating effects of moral disengagement (MD) and knowledge hiding (KH). Design/methodology/approach In all, 244 public and private hospital employees in Pakistan provided the data set. Findings According to partial least…
Dish the dirt! Dual effects of workplace gossip patterns in linking coworker friendship with incivility in the restaurant context
Purpose People are more likely to participate in work-related events that might cause positive and negative affective reactions. Prior research linked coworker friendship with incivility; however, few studies investigated negative workplace gossip. Simultaneously, linking coworker friendship with incivility through positive/negative affective responses is lacking. As such, this paper aims to examine this relationship via the dual mediation effect…

The dual effect of digital communication reinforcement drivers on purchase intention in the social commerce environment
The paper draws on the theory of planned behavior (TPB) to investigate the dual effect of digital communication reinforcement drivers: positive (i.e., interactivity, argument quality, hedonic motivation, and perceived enjoyment online) and negative (i.e., intrusive concerns and privacy concerns) on purchase intention. This paper also examines the mediation effect of perceived usefulness and the moderation effect of habit. Using a time-lag approac…
Consequences of local culinary memorable experience
Underpinned by integrating self-determination and source credibility theories (SCT), this paper investigates the focal roles of memorable local food experiences (MLX) and travel influencer endorsement (TIE) on revisit intention. A questionnaire was used to collect data from 513 TikTok influencers (individuals who frequently post videos on TikTok and have a large number of followers). A purposive sampling technique is used to collect data from Tik…
What Drives Followers-Influencer Intention in Influencer Marketing? The Perspectives of Emotional Attachment and Quality of Information
This study aims to determine to which extent perceived information quality and emotional attachment with digital influencers can shape the purchase intention of consumers while considering the mediating effects of perceived influence and the moderating effects of influencer reputation. A hypothetical model is tested based on social learning and media dependency theories. The response of 298 online users was analyzed by using Smart PLS-SEM. Result…
