Quick Design of Air Vents for Power Intakes
For closed conduit systems without surge tanks, common parameter is derived and correlated with vent diameter as used in 35 hydroelectric installations; empirical equation for solution of vent diameter size requires knowledge of only rated head, output of turbine, and length of vent; graphic solution is also given.
