Research on Influencing Factors and Mechanisms of Human-Machine Safety Collaboration Behavior in Coal Mines Based on Dematel-ISM
To manage the process of human-machine safety collaboration in the context of intelligent construction of coal mines and prevent the occurrence of human-machine interaction accidents. This study explores the variables affecting human-machine safety collaboration in coal mines and analyzes the causal relationships and mechanisms of action among the variables. This study adopts DEMATEL-ISM method to analyze the causal relationship between factors a…

The traditional traffic concept seems to be unable to adapt to the traffic problems brought by cities’ rapid development. People must cultivate new modern traffic literacy to deal with traffic problems. Based on traffic literacy, this paper constructs a traffic literacy evaluation indicator system including 13 evaluation indicators such as traffic rules and mechanical knowledge by summarizing relevant literature. Exploring characterizing factors and mechanisms of citizens' water literacy to promote sustainable water use: A grounded systems analysis method
Improving citizens' water literacy level has gradually become one of the key elements to solve or alleviate water problems, which is of great significance in building a social water security system and promoting the harmonious development of man and nature. A fusion method—grounded systems analysis based on grounded theory and event systems theory is proposed in this study, which is used to explore the representation factors of water literacy and…
Food Culture in China: From Social Political Perspectives
Based on anthropological theory on food, this research gives a brief discussion on the development direction of food civilization, analyzes the facts that people’s diet activities and eating behaviors, in the ancient Chinese society centering on the state political power, were controlled or influenced by the political ideology. It also probes the relationship between food culture and social-political traditions. Taking ‘tables’ and ‘banquets’ as …
Transforming Health Care: Empowering Therapeutic Communities through Technology-Enhanced Narratives
Health technology innovations continue to revolutionize health care delivery but simultaneously challenge the design of services that do not marginalize human participation in the creation of value in the health care delivery process. This research recruited persons living with chronic disease to collaborate in developing information communication technologies (ICTs) conceived as a virtual reality game and web-compatible graphic novel intended to…
Resisting immigrant myths: Everyday consumer practices of Asian immigrants in America
n\t\t\t\t\tProjective, depth interviews with U.S. Asian immigrants revealed their ambivalence toward the U.S. commercial sector’s colonial-era representations of Asian people. These commercial representations provide polarized depictions of Asian immigrants as either threatening aliens or as model citizens. These portrayals reflect “racialized otherness,” or racial stereotyping that represent Asian immigrants as inferior. Our findings indicate th…

The Use of Western Brands in Asserting Chinese National Identity
Chinese consumers employ Western brands to assert competing versions of Chinese national identity. These uses emerged from findings that Chinese form meanings of Western brands, drawing from select historical national narratives of East-West relations: the West as liberator and Western brands as instruments of democratization; the West as oppressor and Western brands as instruments of domination; the West as subjugated and Western brands, by thei…
Reconstructing the South: How Commercial Myths Compete for Identity Value through the Ideological Shaping of Popular Memories and Countermemories
This study explicates the coconstitutive relationships between commercial mythmaking and popular memory that arise through myth market competitions for identity value. We develop a genealogical analysis of the representational strategies and ideological rationales that two prominent New South mythmakers use to shape popular memories in relation to their competitive goals and to efface countermemories that contradict their mythologized representat…
Extended Self and Possessions in the Workplace
This study of the meanings of possessions displayed in the offices of employees in a high technology firm suggests extensions to the concept of extended self. Work self and home self contend for dominance in these displays. Employees must decide which aspects of the self belong to the domain of work and which belong elsewhere. In these ongoing negotiations self may be extended, but it may also be retracted and hidden. Furthermore, although posses…
Consumers' Need for Uniqueness: Scale Development and Validation
Consumers acquire and display material possessions for the purpose of feeling differentiated from other people and, thus, are targeted with a variety of marketing stimuli that attempt to enhance self-perceptions of uniqueness. Because the pursuit of differentness (or counterconformity motivation) varies across individuals to influence consumer responses, we develop and validate a trait measure of consumers' need for uniqueness. Consumers' need fo…
