    Dawn G Blasko, Victoria A Kazmerski•ARTICLE•Metaphor and Symbol•2006

In recent years, the field of cognitive neuroscience has flourished as new tools allow researchers to peer inside the workings of the living brain. • Attentional Interference in Judgments of Musical Timbre

    Michael D Hall, Dawn G Blasko•ARTICLE•The Journal of General Psychology•2005•References: 2

Researchers have shown that working memory is related to a variety of high-level cognitive processes. • Reading and Recall of Metaphorical Sentences

Dawn G Blasko, Deborah S Briihl et al.•ARTICLE•Metaphor and Symbol•1997

Two experiments examined the effects of familiarity and context on the reading and recall of metaphorical sentences. In Experiment 1, eye movements were recorded during the reading of high- or low-familiar target metaphors that were preceded by either a related metaphor, an unrelated metaphor, or an unrelated literal sentence. High-familiar metaphors were read more quickly than low-familiar metaphors. Related metaphor contexts facilitated reading…
