Eolian Erosional Processes and Landforms
Eolian erosion encompasses the abrasion of rocks by saltating sand grains and the deflation of fine materials. Of these two processes, abrasion is the easiest to identify, as it polishes and facets rocks, and commonly leaves behind characteristic features, including flutes, grooves, and pits.
