Metallurgy, Pharaonic Egypt
There was a strong tradition of metalworking from the earliest periods of Pre‐Dynastic Egyptian history. From the Badarian period, copper objects such as beads and pins made from “native copper” are known. Objects made from smelted copper, with alloying elements such as antimony and tin, are known from ca. 4000 BCE and represent some of the earliest copper alloy objects in the world.
