Emotions and the Self
Emotions hold a central place in sociological understandings of the self, both as a facet of identity management and as an outcome of self-processes. We extend identity theory and research on emotions by suggesting that emotion may be another source of identity change and examine this using a longitudinal sample of newly married couples, focusing on person identities and depression. Confronting Student Prejudice with "Mario Kart" Nintendo Wii
This paper explores the use of "Mario Kart" Nintendo Wii as cause of prejudice. Participating students were randomly placed into two "Mario Kart" Nintendo Wii tournaments. Students then competed as team members and ranked personality traits for their team (in-group) and the opposing team (out-group).
