El‐Lisht
The site of El‐Lisht, located approximately 65 km south of Cairo, consists mainly of the pyramid complexes of Amenemhat I and Senwosret I, which are both surrounded by private cemeteries dating from the Old Kingdom through the Roman period. El‐Lisht rose to prominence during the Middle Kingdom, with settlement remains from this time found north of the pyramid field.
