  • Vaporized nicotine use among patients in HIV care who smoke tobacco

Rob Jay Fredericksen, Emma Fitzsimmons et al.•ARTICLE•AIDS Care•2023

Evidence suggests adverse health effects from vaporized nicotine (VN) use, such as electronic “e” cigarettes, and limited efficacy to aid tobacco cessation. People with HIV (PWH) smoke tobacco at higher rates than the general population, with greater morbidity, highlighting the necessity of effective tobacco cessation tools. Open Access•E Richardson, E A Richardson et al.•ARTICLE•Health & Place•2015•Cited by: 9•References: 9

Alcohol-related hospitalisations and deaths were significantly higher in neighbourhoods with higher outlet densities, and off-sales outlets were more important than on-sales outlets. The relationships held for most…

    Open Access•Niamh Shortt, N K Shortt et al.•ARTICLE•Tobacco Control•2014

The density of tobacco retail outlets in residential neighbourhoods is associated with increased odds of both ever smoked and current smoking among adolescents in Scotland. Policymakers may be advised to focus on reducing the overall density of tobacco outlets, rather than concentrating on 'child spaces

  • Role of physical activity in the relationship between urban green space and health

    Open Access•E Richardson, E A Richardson et al.•ARTICLE•Public Health•2013

  • Do smoking cessation programmes influence geographical inequalities in health? An evaluation of the impact of the Pegs programme in Christchurch, New Zealand

    Rosemary Hiscock, J Pearce et al.•ARTICLE•Tobacco Control•2009

Although enrolees were drawn from a wide variety of backgrounds, those most likely to quit tended to reside in affluent areas or areas with a low proportion of Māori. There was no evidence that this smoking cessation programme increased or decreased inequalities within the Christchurch population. For smoking cessation programmes to have an impact on health inequalities more effort is required in targeting hard-to-reach groups and in encouraging …
