  • An Empirical Analysis of the Space Rent and Land Rent within a Central Business District

    Open Access•Konosuke Sasaki•ARTICLE•Environment and Planning A…•1991•References: 10

The structure of rents of space and land within a central business district (CBD) is empirically analyzed on the basis of a simple equilibrium concept in the space and land markets. The land-rent and space-rent functions are set up in a recursive way. Two alternative models, of linear and log-linear form, are applied to the data of the CBD in Sendai City in Japan for three different years

  • The Establishment of a Subcenter and Urban Spatial Structure

    Open Access•Konosuke Sasaki•ARTICLE•Environment and Planning A…•1990•Cited by: 7•References: 5

How the utility level of a resident, the profits of a firm, personal income, city size, and the area for each activity vary in the setting of a multicenter city when transport cost and population size change is examined in this paper. Also, the performances of the endogenous variables both with and without a subcenter are compared in order to evaluate the effects of the establishment of a subcenter. In order to do this, a model of a two-center ci…

  • Multiregional Model with Endogenous Price System for Evaluating Road Construction Projects

    Open Access•Konosuke Sasaki, M Shinmei et al.•ARTICLE•Environment and Planning A…•1987•References: 4

In this study, the intention is to build a nationwide multiregional economic model for evaluating the impacts of road construction projects, and to test the performance of such a model on the basis of the actual data. Special emphasis is put on capturing the effects of improvement in the transportation system via the decrease in prices owing to a reduction in transport costs. The model in this study, therefore, is equipped with the mechanism for …
