  • Radiocarbon Dating on Echo Micadas, Lsce, Gif-Sur-Yvette, France

Open Access•Christine Hatté, Maurice Arnold et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2024•Cited by: 2•References: 35

The Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l’Environnement (LSCE) has operated a radiocarbon dating laboratory for almost 70 years. It has evolved from a traditional ß-decay counting to an accelerator mass spectrometry facility. In 2015, the LSCE received a major upgrade with the installation of a MICADAS. This evolution required adjustments in sample preparation to match the new capability to date samples as small as a few tens of μgC. We summ…

  • Yr sedimentary record of climatic and anthropogenic signals in Lake Aydat (French Massif Central)

    Open Access•Marlène Lavrieux, Jean-Robert Disnar et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2013•Cited by: 2•References: 7

A 19 m long sedimentary record retrieved in Lake Aydat (French Massif Central) covers the last 6700 yr at a high resolution. A multiproxy approach (density, magnetic susceptibility, XRF, Rock-Eval, pollen and non-pollen palynomorph analyses and a historical archives study) was used to characterise and propose a model of sedimentation. The high deposition rate results from the combined effects of the high suspension load of the river, autochthonou…

  • Refining the Sarliève Paleolake (France) Neolithic Chronology by Combining Several Radiocarbon Approaches

    Christine Hatté, Jean-Gabriel Bréhéret et al.•ARTICLE•Radiocarbon•2013•References: 21

Dating sedimentary series spanning the past few tens of thousands of years is often problematic due to the quality of radiocarbon data obtained from organic matter (OM), including bulk OM. This problem recently arose when establishing the chronology of a sediment infill at the Sarliève paleolake (French Massif Central). In the studied section of the cores that covers the Neolithic, Ruppia seeds yielded consistent ages for the lower part (7195 ± 7…

  • History of millet cultivation during the Bronze Age around Lake le Bourget (French Alps) as recorded by a twin sedimentary record of miliacin

    Open Access•Jérémy Jacob•ARTICLE•Quaternary International•2012

  • Impacts of new agricultural practices on soil erosion during the Bronze Age in the French Prealps

    Open Access•Jérémy Jacob, Jean-Robert Disnar et al.•ARTICLE•The Holocene•2009•Cited by: 4•References: 15

In order to better understand the evolution of past climate—human—environment interactions in the northwestern Alps during the Holocene, we have analysed the lipid content of two cores taken from the sediments of Lake le Bourget (French Alps). By using a specific molecular biomarker of Panicum miliaceum (broomcorn millet) previously defined and a new molecular marker of soil erosion, we demonstrate that the onset of millet cultivation coincides w…
