Translating Chinese zero anaphoric subjects into English
This paper explores the different ways to translate zero anaphoric subjects in Chinese into English. In general, every sentence in English requires a subject, whereas Chinese, a discourse‐oriented language, does not. Thus, translators need to bridge such differences between the paratactic Chinese and the hypotactic English.
