The impact of different types of self-regulation scaffolds on learning science with hypermedia
Effective use of scaffolds in hypermedia should support students' self-regulated learning while considering their individual differences. Metacognitive and cognitive scaffolds, but not motivational scaffolds, have been extensively researched. There is no clear evidence that using only one type of scaffold is more effective than combining different types. The aim of this study was to determine if the use of different types of scaffolds and their c…
Introducing the digitised dataset of Slovenian folk ballads
This paper introduces a notated music dataset of Slovenian folk song ballads, including selected recordings and annotations for 402 monophonic songs. It traces the historical trajectory of the materials, from their collection to their digitisation, providing a statistical overview of the collection’s structure and outlining the theoretical framework for the analysis of key elements: context (metadata), content (music), and lyrics. The study ackno…
Trubadur
Razvoj platforme Trubadur in novi izzivi v prihajajočih letih
Zgodovina in izzivi digitalne etno/muzikologije v Sloveniji
Procese razumevanja glasbe kot niza pojavov, ki so tesno povezani z IT praksami iskanja glasbe v slovenski raziskovalni skupnosti, skiciramo s treh osnovnih vidikov: etnomuzikološkega, bibliotekarskega (bistvenega, ko se glasbi približamo računalniško) in IT. Članek ocenjuje doprinos teh perspektiv k razumevanju glasbe, in predlaga, da tri obravnavane perspektive niso poljubne
Affective Experience of Music
The article presents an experimental study of the emotional and color perception of music, focusing on folk music in comparison with other musical genres. The analysis showed that some musical emotions are conveyed differently between different genres. Overall, Folk genre had the most balanced distribution of the emotions used in the ratings, along with Pop and Rock. On the other hand, Punk and Metal had over 40% of their ratings represented by o…
The Moodo dataset
This paper presents a new multimodal dataset Moodo that can aid the development of affective music information retrieval systems. Moodo’s main novelties are a multimodal approach that links emotional and color perception to music and the inclusion of user context. Analysis of the dataset reveals notable differences in emotion-color associations and their valence-arousal ratings in non-music and music context. We also show differences in ratings o…
Ethnomuse
Članek obravnava raziskave, povezane z izgradnjo digitalnega multimedijskega arhiva zbirk slovenskih ljudskih pesmi in glasbe EtnoMuza.
Networks of Adaptive Oscillators for Partial Tracking and Transcription of Music Recordings
In this paper, we present a technique for tracking partials in musical signals, based on networks of adaptive oscillators. We show how synchronization of adaptive oscillators can be utilized to detect periodic patterns in outputs of a human auditory model and thus track stable frequency components (partials) in musical signals. The model is further extended to track groups of harmonically related partials by grouping oscillators into networks. We…
