Palmyrene Aramaic Texts
Divided into three sections - bibliography, texts, and glossary - the work contains the published Aramaic inscriptions from ancient Palmyra (Tadmor) in Syria, as well as Palmyrene inscriptions from elsewhere in the Roman Empire. Two Readings in the Caravan Inscription Dunant, Baalshamin, No. 45
Understanding of a recently published bilingual inscription in Palmyrene Aramaic and Greek may be improved by recognizing two elements in the text. At one point in the Aramaic text, the word dyṭgmʾ, "decree," occurs; and, at another point, an alternate division and reading of the Semitic text yields an ordinary relative clause. Both suggested readings eliminate anomalies in the Aramaic, and may claim the support of the Greek text

Is. 33:8 is a difficult verse standing in a difficult context, but recent lines of evidence converge to make the meaning of this verse clear, and to show that we have here another instance of a newly identified Hebrew word. As it stands in the Masoretic Text, the verse reads: nāšammû mĕsillôt šābat ‘ōbēr’ ōraḥ hēpēr bĕrît mā'as ‘ārîmlō' ḥāšab’nôš.
