    St Patrick’s Breastplate gehört zu den Werken, die lorica oder caim genannt werden, was "Gebete um Schutz" bedeutet. Das Werk wird Patrick zugeschrieben. Ohne Zweifel bleibt, dass es eine Fortsetzung der älteren keltischen Tradition, die sich auf Zauberei, aber auch auf die keltische Geistigkeit beruft, ist.
