  • Consanguinité et variations biologiques chez l'homme

    Open Access•Eugène Schreider•ARTICLE•Population•1976•Cited by: 2

  • Inbreeding, biological and mental variations in France

    Open Access•Eugène Schreider•ARTICLE•American Journal of Physical…•1969•Cited by: 2•References: 5

Coefficients of inbreeding, known for most French départements, correlate not only with body‐height, as previously shown, but also with other anthropometrical, physiological, biochemical and mental characteristics. It does not appear that these correlations were primarily determined by differences in socio‐economic or cultural levels

  • Body‐height relative variation studied on 839 adult male samples

    Open Access•Eugène Schreider•ARTICLE•American Journal of Physical…•1968•References: 4

In most cases (80.6%), coefficients of variation of body height fall in a narrow range, between 3 and 3.9. Averages calculated for regional, racial and national groups or for successive periods may differ significantly, nevertheless they do not exceed these limits. There is no relationship with environmental, economic and social conditions and the most probable hypothesis is that body height relative variation is stable characteristic of Homo sap…

  • Body‐height and inbreeding in France

    Open Access•Eugène Schreider•ARTICLE•American Journal of Physical…•1967•Cited by: 13•References: 3

Dahlberg's ('43) hypothesis that heterosis is a major component of the secular trend towards increased stature is supported by the significant negative correlation between stature and the coefficient of inbreeding in 70 departments of France. This phenomenon is especially evident after the onset of puberty, (r at age 7 = −0.25 for boys: −0.24 for girls; but r at age 14 = −0.44 for boys and −0.56 for girls) and is found also in adults

  • Brain weight Correlations calculated from original results of Paul Broca

    Open Access•Eugène Schreider•ARTICLE•American Journal of Physical…•1966•Cited by: 3

Anthropometric data collected by Professor Broca about a century ago is analyzed by modern statistical techniques. Brain weight is correlated positively with stature, negatively with age, length of stay in hospital and perhaps occupational levels. Correlations with age and between anatomical brain components are generally higher in women
