A discussion of synodality in the Catholic Church, addressing the competing claims of prophecy and law, and examining the ways lay people are excluded from governance and from having their voices heard. The paper addresses the question of whom to obey, the law or the prophets, and reviews the ongoing confusion between the two apparent opposing forces. The paper describes the creation and recent functioning of the Synod of Bishops and lay-clerical…

What Do U.S. Catholics Think about Women Deacons
What do U.S. Catholics think about women in the renewed diaconate? The Catholic Church's recovery of the concept of “synodality” encourages an answer to the question. This article examines the possible cultural acceptance of women deacons and the consequent organizational factors and concerns surrounding its implementation. It reviews three studies: a professional study conducted by the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA) of the …

The St. Simeon Fault is 80 km long and stretches from the eastern side of the Al Ghab Depression to the north–east; it links the structures of the Levant and East-Anatolian active zones. Left-lateral strike-slip displacements and deformations of landforms cut by the fault have been recorded. The Sim'an Ridge is located between two branches of the fault and displaced by 1.2 km, overlapping a young depression. As the terminations of these branches …
