  • Givat Rabi East. a New Middle Paleolithic Knapping Site in the Lower Galilee (Israel)

  • The Role of Fire Disturbance on Runoff and Erosion Processes – a Long‐Term Approach, Mt. Carmel Case Study, Israel

    Open Access•Lea Wittenberg, Moshe Inbar•ARTICLE•Geographical Research•2008

The Mediterranean ecosystem of Mt. Carmel, Israel, is subjected to an increasing number of forest fires of various extents and severities. The impacts of forest fires on runoff and erosion are widely documented and include increased peak flows and soil loss until the return of a vegetation cover. Most studies, however, treat fire as a single event, whereas the present study is aimed at exploring the long‐term effects of repeated forest fires on e…

  • A Geomorphic and Environmental Evaluation of the Hula Drainage Project, Israel

    Open Access•Moshe Inbar•ARTICLE•Australian Geographical Studies•2002•Cited by: 1

The drainage of Lake Hula and its swamps in the 1950s created a new landform and changed the hydrological and sedimentological regime in the Hula valley. The affected area extended over 40 km 2 and the work basically improved the drainage conditions of another 20 km 2 that were periodically affected by flooding. This man‐made project marked the termination of one of the oldest documented lakes and surrounding wetlands in history, with a rich and …

  • Erosion Processes in High Mountain Agricultural Terraces in Peru

Open Access•Moshe Inbar, Carlos Llerena et al.•ARTICLE•Mountain Research and Development•2000

Old developed systems of agricultural terraces are found in settled areas with high relief in different parts of the world. The present trend to abandon many of these terraced areas constitutes a process that increases erosion and sediment yield values following the collapse of supporting walls. This paper addresses the problem of changing human activities in the fragile environment of the historical terraces in the Central Andean mountains of Pe…

  • Paleo-Urban Development and Late Quaternary Environmental Change in the Akko Area

Moshe Inbar, Dorit Sivan•ARTICLE•Paléorient•1983•Cited by: 5
