  • Knowledge-Aware Prompt-Tuning for Integrated Conversational Recommender System

Open Access•Xu-Hua Yang, Ming-Wu Liu et al.•ARTICLE•IEEE Transactions on Computational…•2026

Conversational recommender systems (CRSs) aim to mine user preferences and recommend appropriate items through natural language dialogue. A complete CRS typically consists of a recommendation module and a conversation module, which generate high-quality recommended items and fluent natural language responses, respectively. Existing research usually constructs and trains the two modules separately, leading to inconsistencies in input information a…

  • How the one-child policy reshaped rural elderly care

Zijun Liu, Hang Luo et al.•ARTICLE•Journal of Asian Public Policy•2026•References: 21

Using 2018 CHARLS data, this study employs a fuzzy regression discontinuity design to examine the effects of the one-child policy on the accessibility of community home-based elderly care service in rural communities. The findings reveal that the one-child policy has weakened the traditional family-based care system through mechanisms such as promoting non-multigenerational living arrangements and reducing the likelihood of male offspring. Conseq…

  • Can Artificial Intelligence Technology Help Achieving Good Governance

Open Access•Zhinan Xu, Zijun Liu et al.•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2025

Addressing the challenge of accurately evaluating public policy performance in response to citizens’ diverse needs remains a significant issue in governance. Traditional methods of public policy evaluation often lack responsiveness and precision, hindering the ability of governments to achieve good governance. The introduction of a public satisfaction index into policy evaluations can drive governments to proactively address these challenges. Thi…

  • International network analysis based on big data

Open Access•Hang Luo, Bangxi Li•ARTICLE•The British Journal of Politics…•2025•References: 15

How the structure of the international economic cooperation network among the G20 countries has evolved over the past quarter century, and what are the roles and power levels of different countries in the network? We collect big data on economic cooperation events among the G20 countries from 2000 to 2024, and divide the 25 years into four periods using structure changepoint detection algorithms to separately construct international economic coop…

  • Blockchain architecture and its applications in a bank risk mitigation framework

    Open Access•Hang Luo, Dawei Yan•ARTICLE•Economic Research-Ekonomska…•2022

This study proposes a simple two-period model to consider consumers’ borrowing behaviour in a decentralised consensus and information distribution platform. Based on this model, we develop a bank risk mitigation framework and find that decentralised digital identity and encryption technology are the most important factors for attaining market equilibrium between decentralised consensus and information distribution. Specifically, the greater the s…

  • Equality and Equity in Emerging Multilateral Financial Institutions

    Open Access•Hang Luo, Lize Yang•ARTICLE•Global Policy•2021

The New Development Bank (NDB) and the BRICS Contingent Reserve Arrangement (CRA) were built by Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa (the BRICS countries) in response to the ‘disappointing’ Bretton Woods Institutions, including the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The main difference between the Bretton Woods Institutions and the BRICS institutions is that the latter adopts an equal‐weight system instead of a weight…

  • Power Structure Dynamics in Growing Multilateral Development Banks

Open Access•Hang Luo, Lize Yang et al.•ARTICLE•Global Policy•2021

As the first multilateral development bank (MDB) initiated by China, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has been growing rapidly, and within three years of its establishment, has become the second largest multilateral development bank after the World Bank. With the assistance of the supercomputer (Weiming‐1) and combing the method of generating functions, we measured precisely the voting power of each member of the AIIB (analysis whi…

  • Financing Constraints and Investment Efficiency in Canadian Real Estate and Construction Firms

Open Access•Hang Luo, Abu Reza Mohammad Islam et al.•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2021

This article models the behavior of 179 listed and unlisted real estate and construction firms (RECFs) in Canada to study how financial constraints impact the investment efficiency of these real estate firms during the 2004–2020 period. Investment efficiency is interpreted here as the ability and ease of a firm to convert investment opportunities into actual investments. The results show that Canadian RECFs are strongly dependent on two sources o…

  • Real estate prices and bank risk-taking in Japan

Rui Wang, Hang Luo•ARTICLE•Journal of the Asia Pacific Economy•2020•References: 4

This study examines the impact of real estate prices on bank risk-taking using a sample of 133 commercial banks in Japan from 2007 to 2016. Having controlled for other bank-risk determinants, we find that house price growth, house price deviation, and its cyclicality have significant positive (negative) impacts on bank risk-taking (stability). This finding is robust to using different bank risk measures and various econometric methods. Moreover, …

  • Does Financial Liberalization Affect Bank Risk-Taking in China

    Open Access•Rui Wang, Hang Luo•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2019•References: 48

This article examines the effect of financial liberalization on bank risk-taking, using bank-level data of 169 Chinese banks from 2000-2014. Empirical results show that bank stability increases with the development of financial liberalization. We also provide evidence indicating that banks with larger size, longer operating periods, and state ownership are more salient with the development of financial liberalization. However, such positive effec…
