Open Access•Tina Ahmadi, T Aboutalebi Ahmadi et al.•ARTICLE•Psychology in the Schools•2025

Perfectionism research has progressively supported an identification of two related dimensions, referred to as perfectionistic strivings (PS) and perfectionistic concerns (PC). Open Access•Ser Hong Tan, Jerrell C Cassady et al.•ARTICLE•Psychology in the Schools•2025

Test anxiety is experienced in competence‐based situations, such as tests and exams, where one is anxious and concerned about failure in performance outcomes. Spielberger’s State-Trait Anxiety Model makes a theoretical distinction between the contribution of dispositional anxiety and the transitory experience of anxiety to performance difficulties during testing situations. The current study explored the psychometric properties of the newly designed Turkish version of the Cognitive Test Anxiety Scale-Revised (CTAR). Results of an exploratory factor analysis revealed an unidimensional structure consistent with the conceptualized nature of cognitive test anxiety and previous examinations of the English version of the CTAR. Examination of the factor loadings revealed two items that were weakly related to the test anxie…

  • Validation of the Persian Translation of the Cognitive Test Anxiety Scale

    Open Access•Purya Baghaei, Jerrell C Cassady et al.•ARTICLE•SAGE Open•2014•Cited by: 1•References: 34

The 17-item revised version of the Cognitive Test Anxiety Scale (CTAR-17) was translated into Persian to be used for Iranian students. In this study, we used the Rasch rating scale model to examine the psychometric qualities of the translated scale in terms of dimensionality, use of response category, sample appropriateness, and reliability. A total of 297 undergraduate university students were administered the CTAR-17. Results indicated that the…

The results demonstrated that Kuwaiti females reported higher levels of affective test anxiety, whereas females from the United States characterized tests as more threatening. These differences arose in conjunction with self-reported deficiencies in study skills. The interpretation of results points to cultu…
