The authors identified broad categories informed by in…
Global perspectives on manhood and masculinity
The special issue includes several articles that explore the essence of manhood and masculinity. While the articles make significant contributions on their own, readers will benefit from drawing observations from the group of manuscripts. A primary theme emerging from the articles is how cultures, nationalities, religious beliefs, and individual variability make it nearly impossible to define or measure the construct with any semblance of validit…

Making Human Behavior Theory Real Through the Unreal
This article examines the use of fictional literature as a method for helping students apply human behavior theory in competent practice. When students and educators read a poem, short essay, or novel, it allows them the opportunity to join together as an audience as they tease out teachable lessons from the story. The authors posit that when used in human behavior and the social environment courses, fictional literature allows educators and stud…
Longitudinal evaluation of outcomes for youth with serious emotional disturbance during two years of Children's Psychosocial Rehabilitation
This study assessed the course, rate, and significance of change in participants' day-to-day functioning during two years of Children's Psychosocial Rehabilitation (CPSR). Hierarchical linear mixed models were used to analyze Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS) outcome data for 49 youth with serious emotional disturbance, aged 7 to 17 years. The authors estimated participants' change trajectory, difference in initial versus 1…

This article presents findings from a qualitative study of 120 undergraduate students from seven schools in the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. Using in-depth individual and focus group interviews, we explored participants' perceptions of salient indicators of integration of faith and learning (IFL) in the classroom.
