Historical Study of the Use of Low Seat Dingklik In Java in the Socioeconomic Activities of the Colonial Era (1800-1900)
Since the 8th century, Indian traders have brought Hindu/Buddhist practices to Java, influencing the culture of sitting low. When furniture came to Indonesia during the colonial era, the Javanese started using low-wooden benches called dingklik for work and informal interactions. Despite having a simple form and being often hidden, dingklik underwent a transformation through socioeconomic activities in Java during the colonial period. Contemporar…
A home health management app designed in the post-epidemic era using empirical evidence based on the demand collection of elderly users
In the context of the epidemic, the daily routines of China’s elderly populace underwent substantial transformations. The implementation of home-based pandemic containment strategies led to heightened levels of social isolation and loneliness, exerting a discernible influence on the subjective well-being of this demographic. Consequently, residing in retirement apartments has emerged as a more advantageous alternative for elderly individuals capa…
A Bibliometric Analysis of Interaction Interface Aging Research
Taking the motivation of the knowledge aggregation of age-friendly design resources as the starting point, this paper compares the development history of age-friendly design for interactive interfaces, understands the research status, hotspots, and development trend of age-friendly design for interactive interfaces from 2003 to 2022 worldwide, and summarizes and analyses them. This paper explores five aspects of aging-friendly design in the field…
Pre-Islamic religious motifs (550 BC to 651 AD) on Iranian minor art with focus on rug motifs
This article reviewed the influence of pre-Islamic religions such as Mithraism and Zoroastrianism on decorative elements of ancient Persian rugs. The article then evaluated the effect of the Islamic religion on Persian rugs. This was examined through extant evidence from pre–Islamic empire artefacts and publications in Persian carpet history, iconography and religious studies. Using spiritual motifs on some ancient rugs results from the important…

Historical Study of the Use of the Dingklik in Java in the Economic Activity of the Colonial Era (1800-1900)
Low seats in Java have existed since Indian traders came to bring Hindu/Buddhist practices in the 8th century, where only high-caste people sat on low-elevated stone. During the colonial era, ordinary Javanese began using a low wooden stool named dingklik, intended for work. It has a simple form and is often hidden when unused, with little perceived importance. This study identifies the dingklik's transformation through economic activities in Jav…
Recognition and Analysis of an Age-Friendly Intelligent Sofa Design Based on Skeletal Key-Points
The aging population has a higher level of consumption willingness, higher quality of life demands, and more diversified spiritual pursuits. In recent years, age-friendly industries have entered a 'blue ocean of development'; intelligent recreation and age-friendly industries have become new growth points in the double-cycle situation; however, the current generalized design of the market is not enough to meet the needs of its elderly users. Thro…
Study of Ageing in Complex Interface Interaction Tasks
Human-computer interaction tends to be intelligent and driven by technological innovation. However, there is a digital divide caused by usage barriers for older users when interacting with complex tasks. To better help elderly users efficiently complete complex interactions, a smart home's operating system's interface is used as an example to explore the usage characteristics of elderly users of different genders. This study uses multi-signal phy…
The Impact of Interface Design Element Features on Task Performance in Older Adults
It is crucial that the interface design of mobile apps be age-appropriate at this stage of global aging, as the new epidemic has resulted in a higher sense of isolation among older persons. In this study, four typical senior social service mobile applications were chosen to give older persons the ability to complete user login duties. The participants were 16 older adults (7 men and 9 women) aged 55 to 76. Both objective and subjective data, incl…
An Empirical Study on the Influence of Smart Home Interface Design on the Interaction Performance of the Elderly
The concept of the smart home has been widely recognized and accepted, but the differentiated characteristics of elderly smart products in terms of demand and use are becoming more and more prominent. The lack of an efficient navigation design of the smart product interface increases the cognitive burden of elderly users, and how to better meet the needs of the elderly with smart products gradually becomes the focus of attention. This study was c…
Identifying Interior Spatial Dimensions According to User Preference
This study proposed a fundamental technique for evaluating the preferences of interior space users by capturing their verbally expressed preferences and then determining word associations. To accomplish this, the Pajek visualization software for large network analysis was employed in conjunction with the USF Word Association dictionary to visualize the structures and network depths of the derived associative meanings. The generated associative wo…
The Evolution of Iranian Carpet Designs with the Influence of Islam and Chinese art; Ilkhanid, Timurid, Safavid
This article reviews and analyses the characteristics of Persian rugs through a historical background in the Islamic era, and design motifs that applied to the Persian rugs during the beginning of the Islamic era in Iran. Ilkhanid, Timurid, and Safavid as Islamic dynasties are considered, which were influenced by Chinese design motifs and religious style during said periods. Exemplar rug designs have been selected from illustrations from Shahname…
