    Voiceshifting is the technique of electronically influencing a voice’s pitch, timbre, and thus meanings. Voiceshifting occurs as a technoaesthetic object, shaped by both discursive agendas and available tools. In the aftermath of ethnographic investigations into music’s uses for violence, this essay seeks general principles according to which interruption does help and harm.
