This study analyzes the relationship between athletic participation as a high school student and subsequent psychosocial development, using data from a national probability sample of American youths in their sophomore and senior years. Patterns of Adherence to a Physical Conditioning Program
This study analyzes correlates of adherence to a physical fitness regimen. The sample consisted of adults who had volunteered to take a physical fitness stress test at a sports physiology laboratory. The meaning of leisure is examined in terms of the extent to which leisure activity serves as a source of self-identity. The data are responses to a mail survey of 236 males and 121 females under 65 yr.
