  • Is Broca's area critical for speech and language? Evidence from lesion-symptom mapping in chronic aphasia

Open Access•Timothy J Herron, Krista Schendel et al.•ARTICLE•Frontiers in Language Sciences•2024

Introduction The specific role that Broca's area plays in speech and language has been hotly debated in the literature. Some research has pointed to a specific role in particular aspects of speech production, while other findings have suggested additional roles in aspects of language comprehension. In the current study, we had the opportunity to take a broad approach by analyzing lesion and behavioral data from a large cohort of left hemisphere s…

  • Sustainability in an imaginary world

Open Access•Roy Bendor, Junia Anacleto et al.•ARTICLE•interactions•2015

In this forum we highlight innovative thought, design, and research in the area of interaction design and sustainability, illustrating the diversity of approaches across HCI communities. --- Lisa Nathan and Samuel Mann, Editors

  • Divisive Conditioning

    Open Access•Timothy J Herron, Timothy Herron et al.•ARTICLE•Philosophy of Science•1997•Cited by: 5•References: 23

Conditioning can make imprecise probabilities uniformly more imprecise. We call this effect “dilation”. In a previous paper (1993), Seidenfeld and Wasserman established some basic results about dilation. In this paper we further investigate dilation on several models. In particular, we consider conditions under which dilation persists under marginalization and we quantify the degree of dilation. We also show that dilation manifests itself asympto…
